Aid for Afghanistan – Bill C-41 Passes

Since August 2021, when the Taliban took over control of Afghanistan, Presbyterian World Service & Development and similar organizations have been unable to respond to increasingly urgent needs in the country. After two years of advocacy, Bill C-41—legislation that removes legal barriers which prohibited aid and provides a path to enable crucial humanitarian assistance—was adopted in June 2023.
