We pray for God’s blessing upon all who are planning to be married.

The Presbyterian Church in Canada holds two parallel definitions of marriage and recognizes that faithful, Holy Spirit-filled, Christ-centered, God honouring people can understand marriage as a covenant relationship between a man and a woman or as a covenant relationship between two adults. We believe marriage is a commitment to love and to support one another faithfully for life.

The session of every Presbyterian Church in Canada congregation determines who may use their property for any purpose, including weddings, and each session may develop a wedding policy to provide information and guidance related to this celebration.

Ministers of The Presbyterian Church in Canada are permitted to accept, or not accept any request to conduct a marriage ceremony and might require a marriage preparation program for couples. Ministers who officiate/perform marriage ceremonies must have a valid license as issued by their province.
