Faith in the Declaration Coalition Statement for National Indigenous Peoples Day June 21, 2023

On this National Indigenous Peoples Day, the PCC joins faith communities and organizations to affirm our ongoing support for the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples as the framework for reconciliation, and the Declaration Act requiring that the Government of Canada align its policies and programs with the Declaration’s articles and principles. We anticipate that the government will be tabling its first National Action Plan, a critical step for moving toward right relationships with Indigenous Peoples. The full statement can be viewed here.
