We pray for Captain In-Seob Won, who serves as a regular force military chaplain in Petawawa, Ontario, and for his ministry of presence with the diverse communities that are part of the Canadian Armed Forces.
We pray for the ministry of our chaplains serving in universities across Canada and for those under their care.
During the consumer-driven days leading up to Christmas, let us focus on good stewardship and awareness of what it means to have enough.
The Assembly Council met for its semi-annual meeting at Crieff Hills Retreat and Conference Centre from November 24-26 with members coming from across the country to work together and ensure that the work of the church is carried out efficiently and effectively within the policies established by the General Assembly.
The Rev. Amanda Currie, Moderator of the 2019 General Assembly, offers a Christmas message reflecting on including all in our circle of faith and God coming to be with us through the birth of Jesus.
We pray for Cyclical PCC coaches as they assist leaders to take first steps towards starting new worshipping communities. Praise God for gifting us with people with the skills, gifts and passion to help the denomination grow.
In this season of Advent, we pray that we will deepen our commitment to our journey of repentance for harm done to LGBTQI people in the church begun in the Moderator’s Letter of Repentance in 2018.
We pray for Sylvia Haddad, director of the Joint Christian Committee for Social Service in Lebanon, who, along with her staff, are faithfully serving the Palestinian and Syrian refugees.
Letters to sessions, presbyteries and synods calling for nominations to the General Assembly Standing Committees are now available. If you are interested in serving the church on a General Assembly committee, please contact your session, presbytery or synod.
