The church seems to be the last hold-out in a world that has largely done away with cash due to the popularity of digital banking. It is likely that the newest generation of the workforce has never received a physical pay-cheque. Most don’t even carry cash.
These changes mean that churches which continue to receive gifts only through envelopes and cash may miss out on what might otherwise have been cheerfully given. Digital giving solutions not only make giving easier, they can also make accounting easier. For parishioners who are wary of the new technology, you may need to assure them that the methods you’ve chosen are secure and that digital giving is equally as spiritual.
