Calling for Nominations for 2026 General Assembly Standing Committees

The Committee to Nominate Standing Committees presents nominations to the General Assembly for its standing committees.

The vision statement of the church helps to guide the church as we seek to fulfil God’s mission in the world. The Committee to Nominate invites the church to nominate enthusiastic, dedicated and skilled members to serve on these committee as we embrace this vision.

Commissioners at 2019 General Assembly

Correspondence calling for nominations to the 2026 General Assembly standing committees is sent to sessions, presbyteries and synods. It includes a nomination form and information about the process (see below). Other information such as terms of reference for standing committees are found below.

The church encourages a diversity of age, race and ethnicity, gender identity and sexual orientation, as well as work and life experiences and theological perspectives on the standing committees. Nominations representing such diversity strengthens the overall mission of the church.

Nominations are to be submitted to the General Assembly Office by February 28, 2026.
