Amalgamation—For Congregations Seeking a New Ministry Configuration

Guiding a congregation through the discernment process and steps towards amalgamation.

Project Details

Categories:

Host: Canadian Ministries
Presenter: The Rev. Heather Malnick, Living Faith Community Presbyterian Church

Description:
Amalgamation, when two or more churches merge to form a new congregation, is one of the ways God is bringing about new life in our denomination. While often chosen out of necessity (dwindling resources and declining membership), congregations have found that the renewal and vitality that amalgamation brings is well-worth the hard work and sacrifice it takes to bring congregations together.

In this webinar, we discussed the process of amalgamation in The Presbyterian Church in Canada and heard from a ministry leader with first-hand experience in guiding a congregation through the discernment process and steps towards amalgamation.
