Description:
Major gifts and legacy gifts can be a wonderful blessing for you congregation’s mission and ministry. A well thought out legacy gift or endowment policy provides clear guidance to ensure that your congregation is ready to receive, invest and use legacy gifts to support your congregation’s long-term ministry.

One reason that many donors make the language in their gifts too restrictive is that there are no policies in their congregation about how to channel legacy and other planned gifts. Legacy and endowment policies can both assure potential donors that their gifts will be stewarded wisely and help donors to see how their gifts will enhance the life and mission of the Church.

This webinar will help you develop a legacy giving policy that fits your congregation. We will discuss how to create a policy and review sample wording that can be adapted to your congregation’s context and ministry needs. We’ll also go over a checklist which can be used both as a guide for assembling your policy and to double check that you have included the necessary items in your existing policy.
