Sylvia Haddad, The Executive Director of The Joint Christian Committee for Social Services (JCC) in Lebanon, writes to partners and friends that she hoped her second newsletter would have carried “news of rebuilding plans of what was so brutally destroyed. But unfortunately, it carries the news of the destruction of still more parts of the country. More villages, more towns, and more cities are being destroyed. Groups of buildings are targeted at one time by a series of missiles, and they collapse like a deck of cards. Where are the people? They are right inside. Some are given a warning of 30 minutes, but many others are not and are lost under the rubble. [And the] destruction and killing in Gaza continues in a most horrific manner, and yet no one intervenes.” JCC is one of Lebanon’s oldest NGOs working with Palestinian refugees and is part of DSPR (the Department of Service to Palestinian Refugees), founded in 1950.
