The Stewardship department helps congregations and individuals discern God’s mission and discover how they can use their resources—skills, money, goods and time—to participate in this mission, both locally and internationally. We help congregations encourage generous giving in their church at a time when people don’t have the same culture of giving as past generations have had. We also connect congregations and individuals to the mission we do together through our gifts to Presbyterians Sharing.

- All that we are, and all that we have, are gifts from God.
- God loves us and wants us all to live joyful and productive lives.
- How we live our lives is important to God.
- Regular giving of our time, abilities, energy and money is a spiritual practice.
From Living Faith:
We are not owners, but stewards of God’s good earth. Concerned with the well-being of all of life we welcome the truths and insights of all human skill and science about the world and the universe. Our stewardship calls us to explore ways of love and justice in respecting God’s creation and in seeking its responsible use for the common good.
Living Faith, 2.4.1; 2.4.2
Today, Christians are encouraged to follow the spirit of the tithe and consider giving a portion of our income back to God as an act of worship and thanksgiving. This giving is not compulsory – or obligatory – but something we do out of love for God and love for our neighbour. Like a tithe, setting aside a regular proportion of our income keeps our hearts focused on God. You may decide you would like to grow your giving each year – working towards a tithe – or even surpassing it! Check out the ‘How Much Should we Give?’ bulletin for a chart which shows how much a weekly offering would be if determined as a percent of your income.
A conference for congregations wanting to nurture faithful giving and strengthen their congregation’s mission and ministry.
North American Conference on Christian Philanthropy
With our membership in the Ecumenical Stewardship Centre, we help put on this cutting-edge conference which explores encouraging generosity through planned gifts and regular offerings.
Pre-Authorized Remittance (PAR)
Many people use the PAR system for their church offering, finding it an effective, convenient way to take care of their regular commitments to the church on a month-by-month basis. You can change or cancel your donation at any time.
Planned Giving is a way of being responsible stewards of the blessings God has entrusted to us. Planned gifts normally come from our accumulated assets and are intended to fund the long-term ministry objectives of the church.
