Presbyterian World Service & Development is the international development and emergency relief agency of The Presbyterian Church in Canada. Following the example set by Jesus, our church responds faithfully to the call to serve people in need. By giving generously today, you are reaching out to someone in need and helping them create lasting change for themselves and their community for generations to come.
Ways to Give
Join PWS&D as a monthly donor and invest in long-term community development programs that address the root causes of poverty. Your monthly gift means overseas partners can rely on your regular and consistent support, and PWS&D can use your funds as effectively as possible.
Make a contribution that will help PWS&D provide immediate relief in times of emergency, teach farmers how to grow more food, empower men and women to start small businesses and give children the chance to go to school. Together we can change lives, one gift at a time.
Gifts of Change
Give a gift with meaning! Not only is a gift from our catalogue unique, but you can be sure your funds will be used to carry out life-changing programs that are responding to the needs of people affected by poverty, hunger, natural disasters and conflict.
In Honour and Memoriam
Celebrate a special occasion or remember a loved one. When you make a gift in the name of a friend or family member, we’ll send them a card acknowledging the donation. Your loved ones will be honoured to know that they inspired your generosity.
Become a part of the ongoing miracle of multiplication by donating to PWS&D’s Loaves and Fishes Fund. Planned gifts harness the power of your investment money, provide a steady stream of income to PWS&D and use tax efficient strategies to maximize your gift and your own tax savings.
Designated and Undesignated Donations
All donations to Presbyterian World Service & Development are greatly appreciated and valued whether the gift is designated to a specific program or country, or undesignated. While all designated gifts are honoured, undesignated donations provide the most flexibility and allow PWS&D to respond to programs with the greatest need. Undesignated donations can be used to support long-term programs that address the root causes of poverty and bring lasting change, or allow PWS&D to respond to disasters, including emergencies that do not attract widespread media attention and often lack public support.
