In Nicaragua, PWS&D is working to support adolescents and their families who work in the urban markets of the capital city, Managua.

Working with INPRHU (the Institute for Human Promotion), PWS&D is working in markets and neighbouring communities with young adults and adolescents to improve nutrition and to promote sexual and reproductive health and rights, with a focus on preventing early pregnancies.

This builds on previous work aimed at the prevention of gender-based violence and the promotion of fundamental rights—especially the right to health and food.

Working to reduce the gap between knowledge and practice as it relates to nutrition and health, the project aims to involve the whole family in activities in order to ensure the greatest possibility of success.

PWS&D also supports emergency relief through CEPAD (the Pro-Denominational Alliance Council of Evangelical Churches) in Nicaragua.
