PWS&D is concerned about the humanitarian crisis in Cuba caused by the US embargo and trade restrictions on fuel and other essential supplies. These measures present a significant challenge for the Cuban people to meet their basic needs.
PWS&D will support a food assistance project through Canadian Foodgrains Bank to provide families with cash transfers to purchase essential food and other items.
The World Council of Churches and the ACT Alliance have issued a joint statement urging all governments to reject unilateral coercive measures and to act collectively to uphold the principles of the UN Charter and international law.
