This April, two of PWS&D’s global partners will be in Canada to share about the work PWS&D is supporting in India, Pakistan and Afghanistan. There will be several events throughout Ontario, as well as an online opportunity to learn more about our work in India.

Dr. Rubel Manivannan is the project manager and palliative consultant for PWS&D’s partner in India, Regions Beyond Medical Union Society – the Duncan Hospital. Since 2023, Dr. Rubel has been closely involved with the Karuna Project, supported by PWS&D, where she serves as the Project Manager. Under her leadership, the Karuna Project aims to reduce gender disparity in the community by empowering adolescent girls to enjoy their human rights. Dr. Rubel is a highly qualified dental and public health professional with extensive experience in managing healthcare projects and providing dental and palliative care.
Marvin Parvez is the regional director of Community World Service Asia, PWS&D’s partner in Pakistan and Afghanistan. Marvin has 33 years of experience in humanitarian, development and activism in Asia, Europe and the Pacific. He is highly skilled in managing programs of large, multinational teams in multicultural, multi-faith and conflict-affected surroundings. He has been a part of successfully developing, designing and implementing small to large scale humanitarian programs. Marvin is also highly experienced in advocacy for human rights and resource mobilization for equal and empowering partnerships.
