Fires continue to burn along large swaths of Canada. Both the British Columbia and Northwest Territories governments have declared states of emergency in response to large-scale, devastating fires. 

Join us in praying for all affected: 

God of earthquake, wind and fire,

we look to you to aid us as we seek to tame the natural forces

that rock us with their fury.

We remember especially this day the people of British Columbia, the Northwest Territories and other areas affected by wildfire. 

Protect those in danger,

help the injured,

comfort the grieving,

and soothe the anxious.

Strengthen and guide all those who serve in emergency services, including firefighters, 

paramedics, nurses and doctors, 

and all who bring comfort and relief.

And help us to serve and support with our deeds as well as our prayers.
