Are you passionate about PWS&D and want to help promote our work in your congregation, presbytery, school or community?
Become a PWS&D Champion and play a vital role on the journey towards a more sustainable, compassionate and just world.
A PWS&D Champion is a volunteer who stays informed about PWS&D’s projects and partners, promotes the work of PWS&D and encourages others to get involved.
As a Champion, you’ll receive our monthly e-newsletter, print newsletter, occasional e-mail alerts and packages in the mail with samples of our latest resources. You’ll also have opportunities to participate in monthly webinars and share ideas and feedback.
What’s involved with being a Champion?
Inspire audiences to partner with and participate in the work of PWS&D. You might talk to your minister about ordering bulletin covers, or PWS&D’s liturgies for Advent and Lent. You might encourage youth leaders to participate in the Sunday School Challenge.
to support the work of PWS&D. Support includes prayers, financial gifts and learning more about the work of PWS&D. You will receive resources and updates to help you do this.
PWS&D Sunday is normally scheduled for the first Sunday in February, but churches should feel free to hold a PWS&D Sunday service on whatever date works in their church calendar. PWS&D has bulletin inserts and covers and other materials—including pictures, presentations and videos—available for use. As a Champion, you might speak on behalf of PWS&D during a PWS&D Sunday service, organize a speaker to come in and do a presentation on the work of PWS&D, or encourage an offering to be held for PWS&D.
Local congregational fundraising is an essential part of what allows PWS&D to work around the world. Holding a fundraiser within your congregation or presbytery, whether for a specific appeal or for PWS&D’s ongoing work, will allow us to continue serving God’s people around the world together.
