Anniversary of Announcement of Unmarked Burials at Former Kamloops Residential School
On May 27, 2021, it was announced that 215 unmarked graves were located on the grounds of the former Kamloops Residential School in Kamloops, B.C. Offer of Confession to All Harmed by Church’s Exclusion of LGBTQI People
In 2021, the General Assembly decided that the PCC would offer a public confession to all who have been harmed by the church’s exclusion and marginalization of LGBTQI people. A service of worship to give public expression to the confession is scheduled to be live streamed during the 2022 General Assembly, on Tuesday, June 7, at 2 p.m. (Eastern).

In a related decision made by the 2021 General Assembly, the Moderator was instructed to write letters of apology to the Rev. Darryl Macdonald and the former congregation of St. Andrew’s in Lachine, Quebec, for the harm that the PCC caused to Darryl and the congregation in 1996 following the General Assembly’s decision to overturn Darryl’s call to ministry on account of his disclosure of being in a same-sex relationship.
