Amanda Currie, Moderator of the 2019 General Assembly, has prepared a thoughtful reflection on the importance of this season as a time to examine our lives, confess our sins, receive God’s forgiveness, and turn towards God’s ways of love, generosity, and grace once again.

Walk This Way: New Lenten Resource for Families

With its themes of sacrifice and repentance, Lent can be particularly confusing for children. A new resource, by Laura Alary, offers an insightful and creative reading guide to help guide children through the season of Lent in such a way that they experience it as good news. For each week, there is a recommended picture book, accompanied by a brief written reflection and questions.

This spring, a webinar series focuses on ministry with older adults. These webinars will help prepare you to welcome, support and celebrate seniors, as well as those who care for them in your congregation. Sign up for one or all of them, and spread the word to those in your networks who might be interested. All are welcome. Topics include:

Final Call for Wall Calendar Photos

There’s still time to submit your photos for the PCC’s 2021 wall calendar! We need high-resolution photos of what celebrating creation looks like for Presbyterians across the country. This could include stunning images of landscapes and nature, or caring for creation initiatives at your church. The deadline for all submissions is Friday, March 13, 2020.

The Presbyterian Woman of Faith Awards will be presented at the National Presbyterian Women’s Gathering in May 2020 to the following three women:
- Faithful Service: Judith Chamberlain (pictured right), a lifelong active member of Guthrie Presbyterian Church in Melbourne, ON.
- Specific Accomplishment: The Rev. Carol Hamilton (left), part-time minister at Knox Presbyterian Church-Harrington, ON, and co-founder of the Change Her World charity.
- Lifetime of Achievement: Joan Smith (middle), a longtime member of the WMS and St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church in Port Hope, ON.
