{"id":509,"date":"2022-11-23T12:46:01","date_gmt":"2022-11-23T17:46:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/presbyterian.ca\/pwsd\/?post_type=where_we_work&#038;p=509"},"modified":"2023-03-01T12:01:31","modified_gmt":"2023-03-01T17:01:31","slug":"haiti","status":"publish","type":"where_we_work","link":"https:\/\/presbyterian.ca\/pwsd\/where_we_work\/haiti\/","title":{"rendered":"Haiti"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In Haiti, PWS&amp;D is working to support children suffering from malnutrition and reduce vulnerability to climate change and food insecurity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Alongside civil society leaders and local authorities, PWS&amp;D is working with vulnerable communities to raise awareness of climate change, build resilience to the effects, and increase food security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a country where over one million people are food insecure and agricultural production only meets 43% of food needs, this work is more essential than ever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By teaching about soil conservation, agricultural techniques that require less water, seed and fertilizer, and strengthening solid waste management systems, PWS&amp;D partners are helping address the needs of families and communities for today and for the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For young children, a lack of proper food at critical development stages can lead to delays in growth and other health issues.
