Lack of clean water, food insecurity affecting 2.2 million people, and the collapse of the health-care system have left the population in desperate need of immediate international intervention and protection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-ast-global-color-1-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-be1aaea5d58ec594e2024918cef6d9d4 wp-block-paragraph\">The Department of Service to Palestinian Refugees (DSPR), part of the Middle East Council of Churches, has served 20,994 people since the beginning of the war with life-saving support. With all the devastation around them, people with injuries or psychological trauma have found solace in a variety of services\u2014from basic wound treatment and psychosocial support, to treatment of chronic and acute illnesses, dental care, support for babies, and family planning services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignright size-full is-resized\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"936\" height=\"690\" src=\"https:\/\/presbyterian.ca\/pwsd\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/gaza-7.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6351\" style=\"width:351px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/presbyterian.ca\/pwsd\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/gaza-7.png 936w, https:\/\/presbyterian.ca\/pwsd\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/gaza-7-300x221.png 300w, https:\/\/presbyterian.ca\/pwsd\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/gaza-7-768x566.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 936px) 100vw, 936px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Lifesaving support is distributed through the DSPR\u2019s mobile clinic in Gaza.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-ast-global-color-1-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-6e7c8b568e4cf1eb577993e3ea37898f wp-block-paragraph\">In the ongoing war, many hospitals\u2014whose services are more essential than ever\u2014have been turned to rubble. At one time DSPR\u2019s Rafah clinic was the only one that remained standing, but with the invasion of Rafah in May 2024 this response necessarily shifted to a mobile clinic format. Prioritizing adaptability, through this approach the program perseveres to bring healthcare to where there is great need, including informal shelters that are not reached by other organizations.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-ast-global-color-1-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-edde0e4166c2a5495a3c7a94a5a35081 wp-block-paragraph\">Ensuring access to health care is essential. For this reason, DSPR supports ongoing services including:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-ast-global-color-1-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-d8d12624ef3953ed2e2761f0c7f5b247\">96 medical days run through mobile clinics to provide lifesaving services to vulnerable displaced populations. So far, these medical days have served 6,882 patients.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-ast-global-color-1-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-fa4503e502b3dac67d5fb6edf0ec9386\">Establishing a new fixed clinic, equipped with a laboratory, pharmacy, nursing and physician rooms, as well as space for counselling and psychosocial services. The clinic sees about 7,500 visits per month.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-ast-global-color-1-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-cb875bda312c762ed2a0d1173c44442f\">Psychosocial services (including group, individual and family counseling), which have been provided to 1,196 participants.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-ast-global-color-1-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-6fa81d9a245660c241c924c59180d451 wp-block-paragraph\">As people of faith, we continue in prayer for the situation in Gaza, asking God to meet the needs of people affected by the conflict and to bring an end to the war.&nbsp;&nbsp;\u201cIn these trying times,\u201d share Nader Abu Amsha, Executive Secretary of DSPR Middle East Council of Churches (MECC) and Dr. Audeh Quawas, the Chairperson of the Central Committee for DSPR MECC, \u201cwe humbly request your support, prayers, and solidarity.
