Since the start of the conflict in this country, more than 20 million people have become food insecure. The COVID-19 pandemic, which prevented many people from earning an income, and the rising prices of food due to the war in Ukraine have left even more people in need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">PWS&amp;D supported a food voucher project in Yemen which allowed families to purchase food items such as wheat flour, beans, oil, sugar and salt. PWS&amp;D has been responding in this area with partners at Canadian Foodgrains Bank since 2019.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In Yemen, 80% of the population lives below the poverty line.
