PWS&D is working with ADRA (Adventist Development and Relief Agency) and Global Medics to ship 510 household water purification systems along with hygiene kits (soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes) to Vanuatu today. The soap and dental hygiene goods were donated by corporations, and volunteers are helping to pack everything at the Global Medics warehouse. Vanuatu is such an isolated place that water purification devices are not available locally at the scale needed after such a disaster. Airlines are providing greatly reduced freight fees to make this response as cost effective as possible.

The hygiene kits are stuffed into the water purification boxes at no extra cost for shipping. The flight will leave with the goods later today. PWS&D is supporting the ADRA Network response in the provision of food, emergency shelter, and water/hygiene kits.
