The congregation of Memorial Presbyte- rian Church in Sylvan Lake, Alta., recently decorated pysanky (Ukrainian Easter eggs). Each egg represented $1,000 of funds raised and sent to Presbyterian World Service & Development in support of Ukraine. The congregation also participated in the Can- ada-wide celebration of hope on April 24 to help raise awareness of the suffering caused by war in Ukraine.
During the March service of St. Matthew’s Presbyterian Church in Grand Falls–Windsor, N.L., donations made by congregation members to two com- munity outreach projects were blessed at the same time as the offering by interim moderator the Rev. David Sturtevant. It was the first time the non- perishable food items, clothing and personal care items were included in the blessing and it is now part of every service. Pictured with the Rev. On Sunday, Feb. 27, the congregation of Richmond Hill Presbyterian Church (R.H.P.C.) in Richmond Hill, Ont., formally presented the Rev. Duncan Jeffrey their thanks and appreciation for 13.4 years of ministry at R.H.P.C., offering best wishes for a long, happy and healthy retirement. The Rev. Duncan Jeffrey is pictured here with congregation members during his last Sunday service, as well as with Music Director Deon Flash, members of the choir, and clerk of Session Susan Falla-Johnson during their presentations of thanks. Gratitude was also expressed to Duncan’s wife, Paulette, by ruling elder Mima Summers. The congregation looks forward to celebrating with Duncan and his family at a reception planned for June.
