The past several decades have been marked by an ever increasing use of technology in all areas of life, including ministry. The reality of COVID-19, social distancing, limited gathering sizes and the discovery of online ministry opportunities have brought into focus the ways the church could benefit from technology, while also spotlighting many of our deficiencies in this area.
The purpose of this grant is to assist congregations who have a need to upgrade or update their technology for use in their ministry. This may include, but is not limited to:
- Video cameras
- Mixing boards
- Software upgrades
- Live-streaming equipment
- Podcasting equipment
In order for ministries to be eligible for a technology grant they will need to demonstrate how the technology they plan to purchase will increase their capacity to run programs, to lead worship and to share the love of Christ in their communities.
This grant is reserved for ministries within The Presbyterian Church in Canada. Preference will be given for congregations with annual budget of under $100,000. There are 25 one-time grants of up to $2,000 available.
Applications will be considered on an ongoing basis until August 15, 2021.
