A Thanksgiving Message from the Moderator
With Thanksgiving coming up, you may be wondering how to celebrate and feel thankful when the world is struggling with a global health crisis, political instability, widespread forest fires, racism and violence. This new reflection from the Rev. Amanda Currie, Moderator of the General Assembly, offers an encouraging perspective and a multitude of reasons to praise God and give thanks in difficult times.

Calling Congregations to Submit to the
Presbyterian Connection Newspaper
The Fall 2020 issue of the Presbyterian Connection newspaper was sent out in September, and this latest issue is once again filled with lots of amazing articles and photos from congregations and groups across the country. Your contributions truly share the Good News when good news may be hard to find.

We are now inviting congregations to submit stories, reflections, or photos for the News and Gatherings sections of the Winter 2020–21 edition. We would love to hear about new ministry and outreach initiatives along with any recent gatherings/events (be it online or in-person with safe distancing measures).

The submission deadline for the Winter 2020–21 edition is October 15.

Light of the World: Presbyterians Read
Advent 2020 Book Study
In Advent 2020, Presbyterians across the country are invited to join a denomination-wide book study on Amy-Jill Levine’s Light of the World: A Beginner’s Guide to Advent.

Levine’s knowledge of the New Testament, strong storytelling skills and deep love of the gospels will guide Presbyterians through Advent while reflecting on the birth of Jesus as it is told in the first two chapters of Matthew and Luke.

The free four-part study guide—designed to work for groups meeting online or in-person—is now available to download on the PCC website.
