The Presbyterian Church Building Corporation (PCBC) is pleased to welcome Betty Kupeian in the role of General Manager, following the retirement announcement of the current General Manager, Bill Collier. Betty began in the role on June 1, 2020, and will be working with Bill for a few weeks to transfer responsibilities.
Betty has an extensive history as a public accountant in both profit and non-profit organizations within her own practice as well as accounting firms in Montreal and Toronto. From 2008 to 2017, she served as finance manager/consultant of a large church in the Greater Toronto Area, with multiple campuses and a ministerial staff of 20 people.
Betty’s experience running her own professional corporation for the last 13 years provides her with a depth of knowledge for the ongoing responsibilities of this position. In addition, her extensive background in successfully managing her clients’ borrowing needs with various financial institutions, on personal and corporate levels, gives her a deep understanding of the borrowing/lending process.
Betty is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario, with advanced degrees in Management Accounting (CMA) and Finance (BComm.).
Active within Presbyterian congregations for the past 37 years, she has served as a member of the Planned Giving Committee at the national church offices, treasurer of Arise Ministries within the Presbytery of East Toronto, and various committees within congregations.
Betty is married to the Rev. Dr. Nicholas Athanasiadis. They have two adult daughters who are active members of their congregation. She looks forward to working with congregations within the national church to further develop the profile of PCBC.
