Jesus used the parable of the mustard seed to illustrate that great things grow from small beginnings.

The Raw Carrot Soup Enterprise, created by Rebecca Sherbino and Colleen Graham four years ago at Paris Presbyterian Church, is much like that mustard seed – or in this case, a carrot seed.

What began as a desire to help people living on the margins has grown into a not-for-profit social enterprise that hires people on the Ontario Disability Support Program to cook and package handcrafted gourmet soup.

The Raw Carrot, a grant recipient of the Avondbloem Experimental Fund, recently opened its third site, located in Kitchener, ON.
