“The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” James 5:16
Two Rivers Church, a mission of the PCC, is exploring new ways of doing church in Guelph, ON. A recipient of the Supporting Ministry Grant, the ministry is made up of “Living Rooms” (house churches), where people gather together in homes for meals and conversations that draw them deeper into friendship and spiritual formation in Christ.
They also gather in different “Learning Room” formats to study together in more focused areas of learning. On Sunday evenings, the various groups gather to worship and share in Holy Communion together.
Two Rivers recently started The Prayer Project – a program to create spiritual depth, wisdom and maturity through prayer. The Prayer Project is a multi-faceted approach to forming missional apprentices of Jesus, through a variety of initiatives that include a weekly contemplative prayer walk, a Healing Prayer Team (which prays with, and anoints with oil, participants during the Eucharist and meets with people after liturgy for focused prayer), and special events dedicated to communal prayer.
