Government Matches Donations towards Syria 

Last month, the Government of Canada announced the establishment of the Syria Emergency Relief Fund. For donations you make to PWS&D marked as “Syria Relief” before December 31, the Government will contribute a matching amount.

Wearing Orange for Reconciliation—Next Steps

On Wednesday, September 30, national office staff donned their orange shirts to commemorate the 3rd annual Orange Shirt Day, in recognition of the children who suffered harm in the residential school system, to their sense of self-esteem and well-being.

The Seed Fund: Apply by Friday, October 30

The Healing & Reconciliation Seed Fund provides up to $5,000 in financial support for congregation, presbytery or youth group activities and events that help build new relationships between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people.

Upcoming Stewardship Conferences for Congregational Leaders

November 15 is Planned Giving Sunday—Worship Resource Now Available

A worship resource is available for this day of National Philanthropy®, with a special story of Hattie May Wiatt; a little girl who lived in the 1800s and gave her life savings—all 57 cents—for the new Sunday School building.  

Hope for a Syrian Librarian

Liza is displaced from the Syrian town of Kessab caught in conflict. Gifts to Presbyterians Sharing have supported The Near East School of Theology to hire Liza as their librarian, providing this future leader with safe refuge as she continues her Masters' studies in Divinity and Library Science.

Evangel Hall Mission candle-making project

This Little Light Candles is the candle-making initiative of Evangel Hall Mission, an outreach of the PCC in downtown Toronto. Victimized, traumatized and marginalized women participate in this therapeutic project that helps them to re-connect with themselves and with others.

The PCC’s 2016 wall calendar is now available! This year’s calendar celebrates the mission and ministry that Presbyterians are doing together in Canada as we share in God’s call to do mission.The calendar includes key Canadian dates of observance and unique PCC Sundays, plus the 2016 Common Lectionary.
