News, etc:

  • The induction service for Reine Boghos took place January 6, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Timothy's Church. Welcome, Reine!

  • At the meeting prior to the induction service on January 6, the names of Bonita Mason and David A. Stewart were transferred from the appendix to the constituent roll of presbytery.

  • We welcome to the presbytery Bonita Mason, military chaplain transferred in from the Presbytery of Montreal. R.M.A. (Sandy) Scott has "medically retired" from chaplaincy service in the Canadian Armed Forces.

  • A memorial service for Carol Bain, who died October 20, 2018, took place Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 12 noon at First Baptist Church, 140 Laurier Avenue, Ottawa, with visitation an hour prior to the service. Interment was to be at the Arundel Cemetery, Arundel, Quebec on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. Read Carol's obituary from the Ottawa Citizen here.

  • The 144th meeting of the Synod of Quebec & Eastern Ontario, met in Vankleek Hill Friday & Saturday Oct. 19 & 20; info is posted on the Synod site here.

  • The Service of Recognition for Ruth Draffin (see item immediately below) was held Sunday October 14 at 7:00 PM at Chamberland Hall, next to Park Simon, 1517 Laurier Street, Rockland, ON

  • At the regular presbytery meeting on Sept. 18, Ruth Draffin was appointed as Stated Supply for the Upper Room, Rockland on a half-time basis for one year commencing Oct. 1/18. Added to the appendix were Carol Bain, retired minister from Seaway-Glengarry, David Stewart, recently returned to Ottawa as a student and Floyd McPhee who finished his term as interim minister at St. Tim's at the end of August.

  • New logo... On April 30 the national church released a "refreshed" burning bush logo, seen above. More info on the PCC website here, including downloads.

  • Presbytery QR codes, including background info, a QR code for the Presbytery of Ottawa, one for Presbytery Youth and a link to a QR code generator.
