What We Do

Presbyterian World Service & Development works with international partners in developing countries to carry out holistic community development programs that empower vulnerable people to overcome the root causes of poverty and create lasting change for themselves and their families.

With the generous support of Presbyterians in Canada, PWS&D:

  • Supports long-term community development programs to overcome poverty
  • Provides emergency relief and psychosocial care in times of disaster and conflict
  • Assists refugees overseas and helps congregations sponsor refugees to Canada.

PWS&D partners with a variety of ecumenical networks, such as Canadian Foodgrains Bank (CFGB) and the Action by Churches Together (ACT) Alliance to pool resources and accomplish more together. Many of our programs also access funds from the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), helping your donations go even further.
