PWS&D is working with the Reformed Church of the sub-Carpathian Ukraine (RCCU) to support extremely poor Hungarian and Ukrainian communities to improve their agricultural success and self-sufficiency of fruit and vegetable farms in the sub-Carpathian region through the Terra Dei Foundation. Terra Dei organizes seminars and publishes articles on different aspects of agriculture including farm technology, plant protection, livestock maintenance and agriculture social and legal issues.
With support from PWS&D, a model farm helps local farmers and students learn new skills and techniques to increase fruit and vegetable production. The farm’s produce also supplies local orphan care centres, senior citizens’ centres, soup kitchens and Christian secondary schools with nutritious food, and excess produce is sold at the market.
