Our Partnerships

PWS&D is working with local organizations in India dedicated to improving living conditions for people with scarce resources through integrated community development initiatives. Through these programs, marginalized people – especially women – are being equipped with the skills and confidence to be leaders and catalysts for change. Through literacy and business management training, women and men from India’s slums and rural areas are starting small businesses and improving their quality of life.

Children and youth receive evening tuition classes to help them build brighter futures and a community college is creating new opportunities for former high school dropouts. Volunteer village health workers are trained to teach people in their communities how to prevent water-borne diseases, reduce malnutrition and improve children’s survival through immunizations. People living with HIV and AIDS are accessing care and counselling through community volunteers and a local hospice.
