Interested in representing and promoting PWS&D to your congregation or in your presbytery? Join our front-line team as a PWS&D Advocate! You’ll receive our monthly e-newsletter, quarterly print newsletter, occasional e-mail alerts and packages in the mail with samples of our latest resources, the opportunity to give us feedback and ideas for how you can spread the word.

As an Advocate, your primary role is to promote the work of PWS&D within your church, high school, college or community and encourage others to get involved and do the same.

What’s involved with being an Advocate?

As an Advocate you might be asked to…

Build relationships…
within your congregation and presbytery to build support for PWS&D.
Encourage your church…
to partner with and support the work of PWS&D. Support includes prayers, financial gifts and learning more about the work of PWS&D. You will receive regular updates to help you do this.
Plan a PWS&D Sunday service…
PWS&D Sunday is normally scheduled for the first Sunday in February, but churches should feel free to hold a PWS&D Sunday service on whatever date works in their church calendar. PWS&D has bulletin inserts and covers, and other support materials available (including pictures and videos) for use. As an Advocate you might speak on behalf of PWS&D on this Sunday or organize a speaker to come in and do a presentation on the work of PWS&D, as well as encouraging an offering to be held for PWS&D.

Hold a fundraiser for PWS&D…
Local congregational fundraising is an essential part of what allows PWS&D to work around the world. Holding a fundraiser within your congregation or presbytery, whether for a specific appeal or for PWS&D’s ongoing work, will allow us to continue serving God’s people around the world together. More resources and information can be found here.
Ensure PWS&D materials…
are displayed, distributed and available at your church.
Make presentations…
to your congregation, session and other groups to promote the work of PWS&D and encourage their full support. PWS&D staff are available to help with resources, pictures and overseas program information for your presentations.
