The gospel story in Luke 24 has much to teach us in our context. The disciples walked on the road with Jesus who was unrecognized. Only in the breaking of bread did recognition come, and they returned to Jerusalem with a new sense of mission. Their eyes were opened and their hearts burned within. Their passion was restored.
