Women’s Missionary Society

Janet Brewer, President of Women’s Missionary Society.

The WMS highlighted the third National Presbyterian Women’s Gathering which brought together over 500 people (mostly women) for a time filled with worship, renewal and fellowship.

It was an interactive time of learning about mission work that the denomination is involved in.

Plans are already underway to prepare for another exciting gathering in 2020. The first regional gathering to bring Presbyterian women together to worship, learn and have fellowship will be in Vancouver, March 29–30, 2019.

Atlantic Mission Society

Linda MacKinnon, President, Atlantic Missionary Society.

The AMS publication, The Presbyterian Message, marks its 125th anniversary in 2018.

The AMS remains open to new and creative ways to fund The Message in a digital world. Though membership in the AMS is declining, enthusiasm and support for mission remains.

Great generosity provided support to The Presbyterian Church in Canada, bursaries to students studying for the ministry, three regional camps and a Youth in Mission participant. As well as providing support to many local mission projects, the AMS continues to support overseas projects in Guatemala, India and Syria.
