Dear Brothers and Sisters,

At the May 2017 of the Canadian Council of Churches Governing Board, consensus was reached in adopting the motion “that the Governing Board agree to support the effort led by Andrew Brouwer, Senior Counsel, Refugee Law, and Legal Aid Ontario to challenge the Safe Third Country Agreement under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.” The Canadian Council of Churches is joining with Amnesty International Canada and the Canadian Council for Refugees in this effort.

The legal challenge has been officially launched as of July 5th.

The full press release in French and English is available to download below, and can also be found on the CCC website. Please share this news and call for prayer for all God’s vulnerable people.

Yours in Christ,
The Rev. Dr. Karen Hamilton
General Secretary
The Canadian Council of Churches
