The Assembly Council met at Crieff Hills Retreat & Conference Centre, Ontario, March 26–28, 2017. The Council aligned its discussion and decision-making with seeking God’s will for the Church in reflective conversation, opening and closing with prayer and worship each day.
Highlights from the Assembly Council meeting review the updates and decisions regarding items related to the Native Ministries Fund, human sexuality, the location of future General Assemblies, and more.
The highlights and the full committee minutes of the meeting are available on the Assembly Council webpage. The next Council meeting will take place November 19–22, 2017 (with the Life and Mission Agency).
Taking on the financial and strategic responsibilities for the denomination, Assembly Council is the final authority in financial matters, within the mandate approved by General Assembly. It supports the work of our agencies, helps the Church focus on equipping, strengthening and renewing congregations, calls the Church to account when in need of critique, and presents a vision for the mission of the Church that looks to God for continual renewal. Members meet twice each year.
