The Presbyterian Church in Canada was awarded a special plaque of appreciation at the centennial General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Korea, held in September. Addressed to the General Assembly of The Presbyterian Church in Canada, the plaque stated:
In recognition of your support for foundation and development of the Korean Church, and God’s mission for Koreans and Korean society especially in the fields of education, medical services, relief aids and industrial mission, since 1885 when you sent the first Canadian Presbyterian missionary, Rev. William John McKenzie, I would like to express our sincere appreciation for your commitment.

In a letter to The Rev. Dr. John Vissers, Moderator of the PCC, The Rev. Dr. Hong Jung Lee, General Secretary of the Presbyterian Church of Korea expressed, “heartfelt gratitude for [the PCC's] mission works in the Korean Peninsula. I am sending the plaque of appreciation for the Presbyterian Church in Canada to you as a small token of our sincerity. I hope that the close partnership between the PCC and the PCK will continue in the future.”
At a gathering at national church office on Monday, November 5, The Rev. Dr. Glynis Williams, Associate Secretary of International Ministries, accepted the plaque on behalf of the PCC from Suk-hong Min, elder at St. Giles Kingsway Presbyterian Church in Toronto.
